the site, but you won't be able to upload or
download recipes. Your EveryLastRecipe account

costs just $1 per month ($12 per year). Click here
for more information.

the "User Control Panel" link in the
tool box (top right). Click the "Update Profile
Information " link in the tool box. |
|
| |
| Downloading
Recipes and Other Data |
| |
|
How do I download recipes
to my computer? - Locate the recipes you
want to download and click the download icon
next to the recipe names to add them to your
download basket. Once you have selected your
recipes click the Download link in the tool
box (top right). The download will start in
approximately 3 seconds. Once the download is
complete you can import the downloaded file
into Living
Cookbook, Diet
Pro or Bartender's
Companion. Free trial versions are available
for all three products. Click here
for more information.
|
|
Can I download recipes in
other file formats? - No. FDX (Food
Data Exchange) is the only supported
format. FDX is the only file format capable
of storing the recipe, ingredient, glossary
item and technique data found on EveryLastRecipe.com.
FDX is an XML format.
|
| What is a download credit?
- A download credit is the cost to download one
recipe, ingredient, glossary item or technique.
For example, downloading one recipe and nine ingredients
would cost ten download credits. |
|
Is there a limit to the number
of recipes that I can download? - Creating
an EveryLastRecipe account enables you to download
up to 5000 recipes (5000 download credits) in
your first month. To extend your download privileges
past the first month will require the purchase
of a subscription ($1 per month/$12 per year). If you want
to download more than 5000 recipes per month
you can purchase multiple subscriptions. Click
here for more information.
|
| I would like to download more
than 5000 recipes per month. Can I increase my
download limit? - Yes, you can increase your
download limit in increments of 5000 download
credits per month by purchasing multiple subscriptions.
information. |
| How can I find out how many
download credits I have left this month? -
Your download credit balance is displayed in your
user control panel. To access your user control
panel click the "User Control Panel"
link in the tool box (top right). |
| My dial-up connection died
in the middle of downloading recipes. Will it
cost me more download credits to download the
same recipes again? - No. Provided you try
again within 24 hours you will not be charged
if you try your download again. To retry your
download click the "Download Basket"
link in the tool box (top right). Your download
basket will show your last ten downloads. Click
on one of the download session links to retry
your download. |
| My Internet connection is very
slow. Is it possible to compress the download
files to make them smaller? - By default all
download files are compressed (ZIP format). You
can turn off compression by changing your download
options in the user control panel. Click here
for more information. |
| Many of the recipes I want
to download include references to ingredients
that I already have on my computer. Is there a
way to download these recipes without downloading
the ingredient data that I already have? -
By default ingredients that are part of the Living
Cookbook, Diet Pro and Bartender's Companion ingredient
database are not included in the download file.
This reduces the size of the download file and
reduces the cost of the download by preventing
the download of duplicate information. You can
force the download of these ingredients by changing
your download options in your user control panel.
information. |
| How do I remove items from
my download basket? - Go to your download
basket by clicking the "Download Basket"
link in the tool box (top right). Click on the
link that corresponds to the type of item you
want to remove (e.g. Recipe, Ingredient, etc.).
You should see a list of items in your download
basket. Under each item there is a "Remove
from download basket" link. Use these links
to remove items from your download basket. |
| I found a user collection that
I really like. Can I download the entire collection
instead of adding each of the recipes to my download
basket? - Yes. On the collection's home page
(the one that displays the collection's name,
comments, contents, etc.) click the "Add
to download basket" link in the tool box
(top right). Note that collections must be downloaded
separately from other items. In other words, your
download basket must be empty in before you can
add a collection. |
| Why do collections have to
be downloaded separately? Why can't I add a recipe
to my download basket when it already contains
a collection? - Collections must be downloaded
and imported separately in order to keep other
recipe and ingredient information from getting
mixed in with your collection information. Collections
normally contain a matched set of recipes (e.g.
Barbecue Recipes) and you would normally not want
other recipes to get mixed in with them when you
import them into Living Cookbook, Diet Pro or
Bartender's Companion. |
|
| |
| Uploading
Recipes and Other Data |
| |
|
Is there a limit to the number
of recipes that I can upload? - No. But
we reserve the right to remove duplicate collections,
collections that violate copyrights and collections
that contain offensive or otherwise inappropriate
content.
|
| What is a "collection"?
- A collection is a set of recipes, ingredients,
glossary items and/or techniques uploaded by a
user. Collections can be downloaded in their entirety
or you can select the individual recipes, ingredient
glossary items or techniques that you would like
to download. |
|
Is there a charge for uploading
recipe collections? - No. Uploading will
not affect your download credits.
|
|
How do I change the name and
comments for a collection? - Go to your
user control panel by clicking the "User
Control Panel" link in the tool box (top
right). Scroll down to locate your collection.
Click the "Edit" link under your collection
to edit the name and comments of your collection.
information.
|
| How do I upload my recipes?
- Use Living Cookbook, Diet Pro or Bartender's
Companion to export your recipes to an FDX (Food
Data Exchange) file. Then go to your EveryLastRecipe
user control panel by clicking the "User
Control Panel" link in the tool box (top
right). Once in the user control panel, click
the "Upload collections" link in the
tool box. Enter a name and comments for your collection,
select your FDX file by clicking the browse button
and then click the "Upload" button.
information. |
| If my exported recipes include
images will the images be displayed when I upload
them to EveryLastRecipe? - Yes. Recipe images
and recipe source images will be displayed. EveryLastRecipe
does not support recipe procedure images yet. |
| How do I add recipes to a collection
that I have already uploaded? - To update
an existing collection, use Living Cookbook, Diet
Pro or Bartender's Companion to export an updated
FDX (Food Data Exchange) file for your collection.
Then go to your EveryLastRecipe user control panel
by clicking the "User Control Panel"
link in the tool box (top right). Scroll down
to locate your collection. Click the "Update"
link under your collection. Click "Browse"
to locate your updated FDX file and then click
"Upload". Click here
for more information. |
| Will updating a collection
affect its statistics and will I lose my "Editor's
Pick" status? - No. Updating a collection
will not affect your collection's statistics and
you will not lose your "Editor's Pick"
status. However, although EveryLastRecipe attempts
to match the recipes (and ingredients, glossary
items and techniques) of the old collection with
those of the new collection, if you have renamed
any recipes EveryLastRecipe will not be able to
match them and the statistics (such as popularity)
of the individual recipes will be lost. |
| How do I delete a collection
that I have uploaded? - You can only delete
collections that you have uploaded. To delete
one of your collections go to your user control
panel by clicking the "User Control Panel"
link in the tool box (top right). Scroll down
to locate your collection. Click the "Delete"
link under your collection to delete it. You will
be asked whether you want to delete the collection.
Click "Yes". Click here
for more information. |
| Why do my uploaded recipes
only appear under User Collections and not in
the main recipe index? - EveryLastRecipe maintains
its own list of recipes in the main recipe index.
Some recipes from user collections are included
in the main recipe index once it has been established
that they are not duplicates, are of high quality,
and do not violate any copyrights. If a user recipe
(or ingredient, glossary item or technique) is
included in the main recipe index, the user will
be credited with the recipe and a link to the
user will be displayed with the recipe. |
|
| |
| Working
with Recipes |
| |
Why aren't all of the recipes
downloadable? - EveryLastRecipe is both a
repository of recipes and an index of recipes
across the Internet. If a recipe in the recipe
index is located in the EveryLastRecipe database
then the recipe is downloadable (the download
icon
will appear next to the recipe's name). If it
is located on another website it will not be downloadable. |

Then click the "Print Full Page" link
in the tool box (top right).
|
|

- Yes. Click on the recipe name to display the
recipe. Then click the "Print 3x5"
link or the "Print 4x6" link in the
tool box (top right).
|
| Why don't all of the recipes
have nutrition data? - Our recipes come from
a variety of sources, not all of which provide
nutrition information. We are in the process of
calculating the nutrition for all of our recipes.
Eventually all recipes will have nutrition data. |
| Can I change the format of
the recipe nutrition data? - Yes. Click on
the recipe name to display the recipe. Under "Nutrition
Facts" click the "summary nutrition",
